Get outdoors

Since summer will soon be coming to an end here, I've been trying to make the most of the lovely weather and be outdoors as much as possible. On warm days I set up a little desk in my my back courtyard in dappled shade and work away. It's such bliss. I thought I would share some inspiring images to help you get outdoors, whether it's for work (I wouldn't mind working in this sweet garden setting below created by love in october) or whether it's just to relax, enjoy a picnic or read a book.

Pastel pretties

Hello friends, did you all have a good weekend? I had quite a relaxing one which is good since there's so much going on in Cape Town this week, what with Design Indaba about to begin and all sorts of exhibitions and events happening. I thought I'd share some pretty pastel inspiration with you today. I'm just loving all these soft and soothing colours with their pastel hues and rather romantic tendencies. One of the larger images I used in my collage is from Plascon's Memory Palette, it's such a gorgeous image and palette, I absolutely love it.

Happy finds

Just a few lovely things I've come across recently...
* I absolutely love this first photo. What an amazing tree and the skirt looks fab too.
* a lovely Moroccan bedroom
* a gorgeous new fabric design from Mavromac which I spotted at their launch yesterday.
* a very sweet little make-up/pencil bag that I bought for a friend of mine that lives overseas. I think it's the cutest thing ever. Of course it's totally homemade, hence the imperfect shape but I like that about it too.

Clarke's bar & dining room

So I finally got round to visiting Clarke's', the latest hip place to be in Cape Town. I love the look of this eatery with it's minimalistic decor and industrial edge softened by lots of plants and greenery in terracotta pots. Their lighting choices are also fantastic. Clarke's is inspired by American diners and serves traditional American style food, amazing burgers and breakfast all day. Breakfast all day... now that really appeals to me! Open in the evenings till late from Wednesday to Friday, it also makes for a fun drinking spot. Have you checked it out yet, if so, what did you think?
