I'm loving...

So today I thought I should just mention something about one of my all time favourite blogs, Decor8, by the oh so talented Holly Becker.

Holly is always featuring the most interesting artists and designers and her stories are just so beautifully put together with amazing photos.
For a guaranteed inspiration overload, take a peek at decor8.

Happy sunday to you

So I just know all my foodie friends are going to love the Sunday Suppers blog which I discovered thanks to Decor8. The blog is all about a new collaboration being run by Karen Mordechai and Casey Solomon.

This is what they have to say about their Sunday Suppers project,
"We share a class-cooking-dining experience, pairing friends and food. The food is market fresh, local and organic and the approach is to create seasonal and fresh meals together. The classes are held in Brooklyn, New York, taught by Casey Solomon and photographed by Karen Mordechai."

Here's a taste of what was on their last menu: Biscuits & butters, a souffle with wild mushrooms, heirloom tomato salad with wild salmon on the side.
And poached stone fruit with marscapone for dessert.

The food looks beyond delicious and the photographs capture the taste and experience perfectly. The beautiful flowers are by Jessie from Rountree.

So for stunning photographs, beautiful table settings and flower inspirations plus mouth watering recipes, take a look at Sunday Suppers!

Bedroom bliss

I spotted this dreamy bedroom over at Melissa Loves, isn't it too lovely? I love the soft, airy white draping contrasting against the raw brickwork and rough wooden ceiling.

So I was inspired to find a few other lovely bedroom spaces, this vintage inspired bedroom is from Harmonie-intérieure via Automatism, they do stunning wall decor stickers...
These last two images, I'm proud to say, are of a South African home, featured in Livingetc.  This converted farmhouse in the Klein Karoo belongs to the super creative McGowan family.
I absolutely love this old fashioned, botanical inspired bedroom, it is such a fresh and uplifting space.

And this last bedroom is just as stunning, beautiful clean, simple lines.
Mmm I'm dreaming of a bedroom make-over today!

So beautiful!

Today I discovered the most amazing blog by Jeska via the always fab Creature Comforts.

Record the day is Jeska's way of keeping track of daily ideas and inspirations. I am so in love with her beautiful collages and photography too.

What a stunning book these would make, don't you think?...

Please take a look, you will be blown away and as if one blog isn't enough, she has a second one too, Lobster and swan, just as beautiful! Sigh...

Day trip, chapter 2...

Fairly new to Hermanus, is the glamorous Isabelina Decor Shed, part decor and clothing, part coffee shop. It's a sophisticated mix of clothing and accessories, decor, lighting and girly gifts.

Choose a table in the rustic courtyard, alongside the old fig tree and await a teatime treat. Delicious Italian coffee and carrot cake is a winner choice, simply divine! Savoury snacks are also on offer, mmm I'll have to try those next time round.

Finish off with a wander through the shop and some retail therapy!

Day trip, chapter 1...

A day trip to the seaside town of Hermanus is always worthwhile, especially when you know where to go... my first stop would be Coco Interiors for some home decor inspiration, followed by a delicious cappuccino at Isabelina (see tomorrow's post!)

Coco Interiors offers an interior decorating service as well as beautiful home decor, gorgeous soft furnishings, artworks, candles, glassware and jewellery. It's a wonderful organic mix of natural elements.

I love all the earthy tones, textures and simple wooden furniture. Coco has a really warm and comfortable feel, yet is still elegant and timeless.

Definitely worth a visit!

Heavenly Sweetiepie

Recently opened Sweetiepie restaurant in New York City's West Village is a super glamorous and stylish venue. With marble floors, mirrored ceilings and walls, Sweetiepie is the place to go for city mums and their kids, although I must say it looks as though the older crowd will definitely be more appreciative than their tots in tow!

I'm loving the twirly white cast iron chairs, red deep studded seating and gilded birdcages, which incidentally seat 6! When next in New York....

First signs of winter

So the weekend is almost here again and there's a huge storm on the way, time to pull out all those hidden away scarves and winter woolies! I'm loving all the winter elements at the moment, the mist, the subtle grey skies, ever changing clouds and the chance to stay indoors and get creative...

A little nostalgia

If you're in the mood for days gone by and a bit of the old fashioned life... Take a trip to Chart Farm

Set in the most picturesque spot amongst vineyards and mountains, you can hand pick and cut your own roses.

Just a wander through the gardens is enough to lift your spirit.
Oh and did I mention, they have a little tea garden too.

More French flavour...

Another weekend, another exciting find!
This time it's a stunning shop in Constantia called  juju et moi.

This gorgeous little shop is tucked away and easy to miss but so worth while exploring. It's a wonderful eclectic mix of vintage furniture, pretty decor and homeware with that French flair.

It's a haven of gifting ideas and inspiration!
Don't forget to look downstairs too!

Paris inside out

As soon as I spotted Paris: Made by Hand on Bloesem, I knew I had to have it!

This amazing book by Pia Jane Bijkerk is all about her secret discoveries and travels through Paris in search of original decor, fashion and styling must haves.
Now I just have to patiently wait for it to arrive on my doorstep!

Heavenly blooms

Photos: Lanak

What with Mothers Day coming up on sunday, flowers are fresh in mind. I'm thinking I should treat myself to a bunch of gorgeous old fashioned blooms to alleviate the winter greys.
Saipua's magic touch
If I could dream, I'd get Saipua to make me a massive bouquet and get it magically sent across the waters.
