Eclectic decor

I don't know about you but I'm not always that neat and have a tendency to love a bit of clutter! I love looking at those gorgeous modern sleek homes but I'd never to be able to live in one. These photos of Michelle and Tracy McCormick's home are much more my style, love the way they've stored all their books and bits and pieces in mismatched boxes piled up on one another and the way they've put all their art up in uneven groupings.

I probably wouldn't choose the blue walls, I'd go with white to freshen it up and make it a bit more feminine. What about you? Is this your style or are you more glam and girly?

Leslie, from A creative mint, has once again come up with a gorgeous palette. This time it's soft pinks, peaches and whites, inspired by Morocco. Oh so pretty

Today I'm sharing some gorgeous styling with you, by the talented stylist, Selina Lake. I love Selina's style, whether it's bright and colourful or softly pastel, there's always a touch of whimsy, femininity and playfulness.

I thought I'd share some gorgeous, bright images today and save the softer ones for tomorrow, so be sure to pop back tomorrow and if you're feeling a bit impatient, you can visit Selina's website, blog or Flickr page straight away!

I asked Selina to share a few things with us...

One place you find inspiration...
I find inspiration from all the Interior magazines I buy, I have loads of old copies of Elle Decoration & Living Etc which I'm always flicking through!! I also get inspired after visiting flea markets or antique fairs.

One styling tip for one's home....
Choose pieces which you LOVE, to furnish and decorate your home, and treat yourself to gorgeous fresh cut flowers as often as possible.

Favourite thing to do on a sunday...
I love spending time with my boyfriend Dave, on a sunny sunday we often walk down to the river Thames, where there is a lovely riverside cafe with outside tables and chairs, we sit and read the Sunday papers/magazines, drink hot chocolate and watch the boats go by for ages.

Thanks so much Selina!

Rainbow stairway

Aren't these the most amazing stairs ever? By German artist Horst Gläsker, each step is stencilled with a human emotion, 112 stairs in rainbow colours, I'd love to see this one day! It's in Wuppertal, Germany.

Shelley's Gourmet Café

This past sunday, the sun was shining and it was the perfect opportunity to have a lovely lazy brunch with friends at Shelley's Gourmet café. We sat out in the courtyard and enjoyed endless cappuccinos and delicious treats, heavenly...

Paper love

I discovered these super cool postcards via Liss on decor8. They are made by i.klee design and are photos of clusters of 3d objects, aren't they amazing? I'm already thinking what objects I can find around the house to try and make my own version...just for fun!

Dreamy work place

I came across these photos on The Selby and simply had to share them, this has to be one of the most amazing offices ever!!! It reminds me of books I used to read when I small, when a little girl would discover an attic full of her grandmother's old clothes and bits and pieces and would create a wonderful, magical, fantasy hideaway from the world.

Hola!

Hola mis amigas! Yes, I'm finally learning Spanish, how exciting! I'm only a few classes into the course so I am a total beginner but I've already come across a few great Spanish/English blogs and I can sort of make sense of them! Can't wait to actually be able to watch Spanish movies. Here are some stunning photos of a Spanish home on the island of Formentera, mmm, perhaps I can go and practise my Spanish there on hoilday...
