Letter love

Another trend I've spotted lately in interiors is cut-out lettering... obviously it's always been used to advertise shops, hotels and venues but lately it's been creeping into personal homes, I love the way you can be really creative and personalise this trend. What do you think? Do you have any lettering in your home?

Love these first two images not just for their letters but also because of the stunning dresses!!

Purple hues

Just a few iris images, such a pretty old fashioned flower, I actually spotted a few on my walk yesterday. And a beautiful painting by Gustav Klimt, one of my favourite artists!

Blog love

Yesterday morning I had a lovely surprise, two blog awards from two fantastic bloggers! So a big thank you to Gaia of Alices Adventures in Wonderland and Bella of Our English (ish) wedding in Italy!

So I'm supposed to tell you 7 things and then 10 things about myself but I think since I got both awards on the same day, I can't bore you with all that info! So I'm just going to tell you 7 things...

1. One of my favourite things to do is make cupcakes and ice them prettily.
2. I love cats, I fear I may turn into a crazy cat lady one day!
3. I dream of having monthly subscriptions to all my favourite overseas magazines.
4. I love picking herbs from my garden.
5. I studied fashion design after school, although sometimes you'd never think it!
6. I find myself collecting old lace and ribbons.
7. I'm desperate to travel overseas again ASAP!

Colourful cushions

I love this colourful house featured on design sponge. Of course I instantly spotted the lovely 'birds in cages' cushion on the sofa! It's from a gorgeous shop called Olive which sells the most amazing retro inspired cushions, I wouldn't even know which one to choose!

I am dying to visit Caravan, unfortunately it's all the way over in London, so it could take me a while! Caravan looks like the prettiest shop ever selling beautiful, quirky objects. These stunning collages are from their website and give you an idea of what they stock, love everything!

It's friday again, the week has flown past, it feels strange going to work today after having a holiday yesterday. Wish I was one of those people who had taken today off too and had an extra long weekend! Anyway here are some weekend ideas to keep us inspired! Hope you all have a great weekend!

A pretty dress and flowers are always a good start...

Visit your local coffee shop or deli and treat yourself to breakfast, mmm croissants and cappuccino and leisurely read the newspaper or magazines...

Get on your bike and visit a friend, hire one for the day if you don't have one! Go to the park, blow some bubbles, remember the fun you used to have when you were little!

Create a memory box, store all your favourite photos, letters and memories in it, it will be such fun to look back on this in years to come...

Spend some time in the kitchen, whip up a favourite treat and share with someone special!

Another new restaurant, things are obviously looking up! We had a delicious breakfast at Chez El' in Hermanus on the weekend, out on the balcony in the sun, what could be better? Lovely simple decor and styling, great music and service, you should pop by when next in the area...
