So Happy Halloween to you! Halloween is not really a big tradition here in South Africa but actually I must admit as kids we did like to give it a try, anything for free sweets!

Weekend inspiration

Oh I am so happy it's friday because I've got such a great weekend in store, firstly I have the day off today so I'm off to Kamersvol for some inspiration and then we're going to Hermanus for the weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday! So there'll be a bit of fun and cake eating no doubt...

Perhaps a few strolls along the beach...

Some relaxing... love this little outdoor area, the twig sofa is so sweet and then of course I'd love to be riding a horse on the beach in a beautiful Summer's dress, wouldn't you?

I'm sure I'll do some vintage hunting, there are quite a few brilliant second hand shops in Hermanus...

And then there'll be some more relaxing, hopefully in some sunshine! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend too, whichever season you're in! Vintage film

Today I'm featuring lovely vintage inspired photography by Cassia Beck who lives in Brighton, a busy seaside town in the UK. I love the slightly blurred and scratched effect she achieves, it works so well with the pretty things she photographs. Splashes of candy pinks and blues, pops of yellow, seaside icons and little toys, sigh, all so pretty...

A touch of black and white

Hope you all had a lovely weekend, I had a very relaxing time which was just what I needed. Today I thought I'd start the week off with some dramatic black and white inspiration. I myself love colour but there is something about black and white that is quite appealing... the combination is so versatile, it can be very gamorous and old world or modern and chic, the choice is yours...

How stunning is this little black sofa? I would love to have that in my bedroom!!

To dance!

I don't really watch much TV but at the moment I am totally addicted to So you think you can dance! I absolutely love that show, amazing choreography, dancing and styling, after each show I am so inspired to take up dancing but of course the thing is, I just want to be able to dance brilliantly, immediately! I found some lovely inspiring dance pics and gorgeous gowns that are all totally dreamy...

Kamersvol

Just a note to all my South African readers, if you live in Cape Town, then Kamersvol Geskenke this coming weekend is a must! It's on from 28 Oct to 1 Nov and is collection of beautiful, handcrafted products from various designers as well as various talks and activities. It's going to be held on the De Morgenzon Wine Estate, so that's already an incentive! A creative day out in the countryside, sounds like a must!

Weekend calling

Another week has flown by and can you believe it's only 64 days till Christmas?! I am far from ready for the end of year rush! This weekend for me is going to be relaxing and hopefully not too pricey. It's has been an expensive month so far, so I think this weekend I'm going to take it easy! Perhaps a bit of home loving will be good...

Some tea drinking and lots of reading, I have so many books waiting to be read...

Perhaps some decorating at home or just some old tidying up would be good but that doesn't sound nearly as fun! Would love to put some floating shelves up...

Perhaps a little bike trip, my old bicycle is definitely feeling neglected! And a lovely home cooked dinner or two, with some candlelight for fun. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Wedding Nouveau

I have to admit I love wedding blogs and sites, even though I'm not planning a wedding! They are always incredibly inspiring and full of beautiful photos and ideas. Recently I got an email from Fri, telling me about Wedding Nouveau, which is a wedding style guide that she has created for multi-cultural and fusion weddings. It's full of beautiful real life wedding photos, trends and ideas but what appeals to me most are her gorgeous storyboards.
