Fresh start

Morning to you all! Hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready for the week ahead. Love these detailed illustrations by Janice Jong, part fantasy, part real life scenes from the UK, they are so captivating, they make you wish you were there, part of the story, absorbing all the bits and pieces. Love the colours and the slightly nostalgic feel about them...

Off to Hermanus!

So it's friday once again, yay, and after work today, I'm going to Hermanus to visit family and friends!

My plans are to do some walking on the beach, perhaps swimming if it's hot enough, take photos, do some reading and that's about it! Can't wait! What are your plans?...

Local fashion

For my local readers, if you haven't already heard, you'll be happy to know that Alexandra Höjer has opened a new boutique in the Lifestyles on Kloof Centre! I love the black dress with the lace detail, so beautiful, I think it's found it's way onto my Christmas list for sure!

Colourful textiles

Just a few photos I took at Passion & Poison, a decor shop which sells textiles and ornamental pieces imported from Turkey, Egypt and India. It's such a lovely space full of gorgeous textures and colours...

White slate

It seems I'm quite taken with white at the moment, I think it's the simplicity of it and the fact that it's so versatile, it's almost like starting with a blank slate, you can go anywhere from there...

And of course what would a wedding gown be without white? The gorgeous dresses featured in this post are all by Amanda Wakeley, amazing designs and beautifully styled too.

And of course stylist, Atlanta Bartlett is well known for her book, At home with white, a beautiful ode to white interiors, full of inspiration...

I love this living room below with it's wooden ceiling beams, pebble mat and relaxed banquette style seating...

Textures and details are definite musts to liven up plain whites...

And doesn't this bedroom look so inviting and cosy? Clean and simple...

Rustic white

More lovely, white interiors, quite different from the white apartment I featured earlier in the week. These are slightly more rustic, matt whites as opposed to gloss and the end result is definitely more casual but still lovely.
