Paper love by Rie Elise Larsen

Absolutely loving these colourful paper lampshades by Rie Elise Larsen. Don't you agree? The brightly coloured cables also add to their appeal. I could definitely do with a bunch of them hanging over my desk to brighten up my work space!

Today I thought we'd pop in to Haas, a recently opened decor shop set amongst the colourful streets of the Bo-Kaap. Haas is equally vivid and vibrant and is full of the most interesting and beautiful pieces. From amazing, eclectic local design and artwork, to jewellery, ceramics and colourful scatters. Haas has a little bit of everything and is a must visit for gift shopping or treating oneself! My birthday is coming up very soon, hint hint!

Rubie Green fabrics

I'm wishing someone in South Africa stocked Rubie Green fabrics, I love the freshness and simplicity of all the designs and the colours are all spot on. Created by Michelle Adams, former Domino magazine editor, it's no wonder the designs are all amazing plus they're environmentally friendly too.

Rubie Green

I love the descriptions given to each fabric design...

Ann
"The smell of azaleas wakes her like an innate caffeine, and she wears dirt under her fingernails with the pride of a fresh manicure. Sunset wraps her at dusk, iced chardonnay in hand, as she mentally landscapes new seeds against fresh morning's soil. Her heart breaks at the first snow; is set afire at the first bloom."

Mary
"Mary knows design. Mary knows trends. She's your mother's friend who spoke to you like an adult, and asked if you wanted coffee with your eggs. Her home's décor held a breathless awe, flawless and admirable, classic and chic. Both her style and advice were impeccable, her nature selfless, and her energy contagiously vivacious."

Michelle is also the co-founder of Lonny magazine and has a fantastic blog, MA Belle, could she be any more talented?!

Hello, it's Friday at last, doesn't this put a smile on your face? I'm so looking forward to this weekend, not that I have anything exciting planned but I really need a break! Just hanging in till next week when there's a fantastic long weekend for Easter! Mini holiday, can't wait!

Today's post was inspired by Todd Marshard's beautiful photography and it got me dreaming of exotic, Eastern countries! India, Bali, Thailand... the list goes on, any of these will do! I know I'd come home with a huge pile of gorgeous fabrics and throws, I just wouldn't be able to help myself and hundreds of photos of course! Are you lured by the East? Have a fantastic weekend!

Liberty lust

Liberty of London has been going flat out lately, doing fantastic collaborations with so many great names. Liberty has been going since 1875 and yet their look is still in demand and incredibly popular. I love their collaborations with Target and Merci. All very floral, very cute and very Spring, I have to admit I've always been a bit of a floral girl!

Bold, electric colour

I'm looking forward to the April edition of Livingetc, you can have a sneak peek at it here. One article in particular stands out for me, Electric Utility which is all about vivid colours put together with simple, functional design. As you probably know by now, I love colour. There's nothing like a splash of bold colour to brighten up a room or to add some life to a tired space and to lift your mood, it always works for me. What do you think about colour? Is it a necessity or not?
