Babete jewellery

I always love discovering fabulous etsy shops and babette is my new favourite! Love these unusual and delicate pieces, I think the feather necklace is top on my list. Take a little visit to Geeta's lovely blog too.

Pastel hints

I thought I'd start the day off with some soft, subtle pinks and pastels to calm my head before my crazy weekend begins. This morning I'm off to gift fair in Somerset West to stock up on Christmas presents, then back to town for a birthday lunch with my boyfriend (at The Grand, yay, can't wait!), then it's birthday drinks for him with friends. Saturday morning we'll be setting off at the crack of dawn for a friend's wedding out in the countryside where we'll be spending the night too and then on the way home on Sunday we'll be visiting my parent's for lunch because it's my Mom's birthday! I'm actually feeling exhausted as I write this, now you see the need for the calm hues! Wishing you all a fabulous weekend!

Wash day fun

Just some lighthearted fashion for you today, this editorial was shot by the fabulous Steven Meisel and actually appeared in Vogue US in 2005! I still love it though, so playful and quirky, mmm doing house cleaning might not be so bad if I had this wardrobe to go with it! Have a happy day friends!

A pale hint of Halloween

So October 31st is just around the corner and I haven't posted any Halloween inspiration yet. We don't really celebrate Halloween here in SA so I suppose that's why! Here it's just the kids who look forward to trick or treating but we don't really decorate our homes or shop fronts like the US does. This simple shoot styled by the fabulous sweet paul, from his latest Fall magazine issue, is just fantastic though. With just a few subtle hints of Halloween and a dash of ghoulish elements, it really appeals to me! The white pumpkin pendant light is fabulous, don't you think?

The prettiest Kitchen Tea

Hey friends, welcome to a new week and the last week of October, can you believe it's almost November?! I had a super busy weekend including a Hen party! It was really fun with loads of laughs but personally I ever get married... I'd want a Kitchen Tea instead (hint hint!). Mmm and if it could look something like this one I'd be ever so happy!

This beautiful Kitchen Tea was planned for Christine Meintjes by her mom and sister. Christine is a talented wedding photographer herself and she and Nicola Pretorius have the most gorgeous wedding blog called, the pretty blog, so it's no wonder that her Kitchen Tea would be out of this world. Just take a look below, very girly and full of pretty floral touches, it's super cute and fun...

Julie Lim took all these beautiful photos so be sure to pop over and check out more photos of the day on her blog. Julie says, "Oh my word! I was in heaven photographing these cutesy details." I would have been too, can you just imagine how gorgeous the wedding will be?

Happy Sunday

Some lovely happy images for you today, aren't they just perfect for a Sunday? Love the warm tones and nostalgic feel to them. I'm imagining a day trip on a vespa, stopping at the beach, ice cream and balloons on the way and a camera to capture the day. Enjoy your Sunday!

Blog love

I'm sure you'll agree with me, this little virtual world that us bloggers share is a fantastic place. I've made so many friends and discovered endless inspiration. This week I got a parcel in the post, now that makes me really happy, there's something about receiving letters and parcels that brings a childlike joy and a lovely sense of nostalgia. I'm not talking about bills of course! I received two fun chocolates all the way from the Netherlands from the lovely Bieb as a thank you. How special, so now it's my turn to thank you, Bieb!♥ {Bieb's blog: FatFatSheep and her online shop: FatSheep} How cute is the packaging? One chocolate was shaped in a 'S' and the other in a 'T'!

Positive Heroes

On a positive, inspiring note to start the weekend, I want to share about Positive Heroes today. Positive Heroes is an amazing non-profit organisation that aims to educate and make people aware of HIV, their vision is to reduce the fear, misinformation, stigma and discrimination that still surround HIV. Positive Heroes consists of a group of positive and inspiring role models living with HIV that have made a success of their lives against all obstacles and they constantly strive to inspire other HIV sufferers and their families. You can read some of their stories here, they truly are incredible.

So to raise funds they are holding their annual Positive Heroes fashion show next Thursday at the recently refurbished Cape Town train station. A unique venue, gorgeous fashion by top designers and couturiers, a great entertainment line-up followed by a live auction of pieces donated by the designers,  I can't wait! Capetonians you can still buy tickets for the show from Computicket here, tickets cost R150 and all proceeds go to this fantastic cause, will you join me?!

You can look forward to seeing designs from Hendrik Vermeulen with Modern Design Jewellery, Stiaan Louw, Kobus Dippenaar, Hip Hop, Carducci, C-Squared, Malick, Scorpio, Maya Prass, Miss Port, X+O, Ruald Rheeder for Scorpio, Gavin Rajah, Viyella and Paul Van Zyl.

So that's next Thursday but the weekend still lies ahead, it's going to be a busy one, what with a friend from Germany visiting and a best friend's hen party! Hope you all have a fabulous and positive weekend!

Bright, happy interiors

I'm sure you know by now that I love a little bit of bright colour, it adds a sense of fun, vibrancy and warmth to wherever it's needed. All of the interiors below have striking bold colours and some sort of paint effects in them, all photographed by the talented Magnus Anesund. I'd love to assist him for a day and get sneak peaks into these gorgeous interiors!

Absolutely love this first bedroom, the colours are stunning and contrast beautifully against the pale wooden walls. The rainbow coloured kitchen cupboards in the second photo are such fun, I don't think I'd want something like this in my kitchen but it would be great in a studio or kid's room. What do you think? Loving all this colour or not?!

C'est belle!

These photos by Tec Petaja only further my longing to travel and visit Europe ... and hopefully sooner than later too! He travelled to Italy and France recently and photographed two weddings, I love the simplicity of this wedding decor and all the rustic surroundings, sigh... one day!

Sunny days

I'm feeling better and rested after a great weekend, yesterday was a gorgeous day in Cape Town, the highlight for me was a long walk on the beach in the morning. What did you all get up to? Just a few happy images below to get our week off to a good start. Some bright poppies, a dreamy field and a gorgeous storyboard by Post Cards & pretties. Colourful bunting, vintage suitcases, a fresh white dress, tea and cake, pretty decor, it's exactly how I'd imagine a perfect day out in the countryside to be...shall we go?

Cape Town beauty

Cape Town is a beautiful city for sure. I feel so lucky to live here, that Summer is on the way and that I have the day free to explore this beauty. The first photo is one I took recently from Chapmans Peak Drive, looking out towards Hout Bay and the second last one is a view onto Llandudno beach. Are you tempted to pack your bags and join me for the Summer yet? Have a wonderful Sunday friends .

Sparkle and glitz

What a week it's a been, it's been one of those weeks when blogging has been a major struggle! I'm sure you've experienced that before, when you're just not inspired to do anything and you can't find what you're looking for and it just doesn't come together easily. So I think I need to take time out this weekend and have a bit of an escape from technology. So this weekend's posts will be light and hopefully I'll be back on Monday feeling inspired. Wishing you all a happy, sparkly weekend!
