The Fringe Arts at Spier

If you're heading out to Stellenbosch, make sure you pay a visit to Spier Wine Estate. There is so much to see and do at Spier, like engaging with cheetahs at the Cheetah Outreach and visiting the Eagle centre, going horse riding, having picnics, the list goes on. And of course there's the loveliest shop selling all sorts of local art and design. The fringe arts features the most gorgeous hand crafted goodies from ceramics, artworks and decor to jewellery, bags, clothing and more by over 70 South African artists and designers, most definitely worth a visit! I'm loving the bags by Wren and stamp sets by lisa & jo, adorable! And of course The fringe arts still has a pop up shop at the V&A until May, so check that out too.

Happy brights

Hello friends! Hope your week is off to a good start! It's a lovely misty day here in Cape Town with a slight chill in the air, so refreshing for a change. I rushed off to the post office this morning on the way to work and received a lovely package from Elena with this beautiful photo print inside! Oh happy days! I've put together some fun, bright and happy images for you too, I'm especially loving the cushion illustrations by Mingo Lamberti and this glittery cookie recipe by Purl Soho!

Dreaming of Santorini

Hello my lovelies! How are you this Friday? I am so happy the weekend is here, I am desperate for a break and after spotting this incredible hotel yesterday, I am now dreaming of a trip to Santorini! It's always been one of my favourite places but of course when I travelled there a good few years ago, I did not have the luxury of staying in a gorgeous hotel like this, it was backpackers all the way! So what are your plans for the weekend? I'm going to be taking it easy for sure.

Spring greens

With Spring making an appearance in the Northern hemisphere, I know many of my blogging friends are leaping with joy! Bright whites, touches of green and turquoises are subtle ways to bring some of this Spring freshness into your home. Add a lick of white paint to some tired kitchen furniture or better yet go for glossy white wooden floorboards! Coloured glassware and painted picture frames are also easy and inexpensive ways to bring in some colour and change!

Seaside weekend

Just a few photos from my weekend away, we had a great time at a small cottage past Simon's Town on the way to Cape Point. Set against a beautiful mountain backdrop and with an incredible view of the ocean, it was a perfect escape from the city. You would think you would have to drive miles from Cape Town to get to a setting like this, meanwhile it took us less than an hour to get there! Rustic simplicity at it's best, with solar powered energy, this was a very different getaway. We enjoyed exploring Simon's Town and swimming in the rather freezing waters, sigh, if only I could still be there! Just look at the view we had from our cottage...
